“Women’s brains absorb information like pancakes soak up syrup so it’s hard for them to focus. Men’s brains are more like waffles. They’re better able to focus because the information collects in each little waffle square.”

This is the sentence that ignited the fire.

Let’s back up. Ernst & Young came under fire when it was reported they were running a leadership training course for female executives that sounded more 1950s than 2019. The above quote is a direct pull from the training course. And it’s just one of many jaw-dropping, head-scratching, table-flipping “tips” that the training passed off as helpful facts. A former coworker of mine approached me, appalled. She had an idea to take the 55-page presentation and format it in a way that was as demeaning as the content itself: a children’s ABC book. We created a digital book that summarizes the presentation in a fit of tongue-in-cheek glory.

This was purely a passion project, but it ignited meaningful conversations and was able to bring awareness to the backwards rhetoric that women still face in the workplace everyday.

Now, becoming a lady leader is as easy as ABC!
